here are some pictures from spring break, which had it's ups and downs.

well i just watched the days of wine and roses. i rented it because it won oscars and i was in the mood for an old fashioned movie. i didn't even read what it would be about.
little did i know it was about alcoholics.

i've never been so affected by a movie in my life. there were points where i had to pause it and walk around for a break. i feel very uneasy now and extremely sad. WAHWAH

this weekend has been mediocre. tomorrow i have 2 essays due. yikes!
and then a final wednesday night AND I AM DONE!
yaaaaaaay

i'm excited for next quarter. all my classes will be fun i think.
last night i didn't go to bed until 5!

SUMMER!!!!!!

and today i went swimming in our schools gym. so fun! they provide swimsuits, towels, lockers, everything! thanks, expensive tuition. -_-
they don't however, provide goggles. and my eyes hate me for it now.

i went to trader joes today too and bought some yummy foods! i'm so excited to cook without a dining plan next year. and grocery shop! GAH now that's something i absolutely love.

saturday oli and i went downtown. i bought a watch and the two of us bought matching shirts. when it gets warm, i'm really excited to wear it! it'll be a nice thing to remind me of oli after she moves back.

this week has been so great!
tonight i'm going to dinner with a bunch of egyptian/italian/balkan students. we're gonna have brazilian food!
but really, i feel so utterly content.

hello blog world! sorry it's been so long.

p-town was fun, but not as fun as i was expecting to. i loved taking the greyhound though! i met a super nice guy on my way there and we talked all three hours. he was a missionary that had just gotten back from india. interesting views! i didn't really agree with him on a lot, but he was still interesting.
my ride back SUCKED. but that's okay.

i stayed with my cousin the whole time. i don't know her well at all, but we got along surprisingly well. she got me mad a lot too though, but that's okay. i still had a lot of fun with her.
i took a bunch of pictures, but she's one of those people that likes being in front of the camera instead of behind it, so i don't really have any pictures of me. that's fine, i just wish i had one or two pics of me from portland. but whatevs. i'll be back there in less than 2 weeks.










one thing that was surprisingly cool was that...
okay, so these pictures don't really do her justice, she's makeupless and all grubbed out, but my cousin is absolutely beautiful. she may be one of the prettiest people i know.
and i guess i've never hung out with anyone as pretty as her before, but EVERYTHING, and i mean EVERYTHING was free. SO AWESOME.
she's such a free spirit. we were walking down the street, for example, and she randomly wanted tea. so we went into this indian food stand (portland has food carts moreso than actual restaurants, which are sooooo delicious), and asked for tea. first of all, tea wasn't even on their menu. but they made it special for us. AND IT WAS THE YUMMIEST THING EVER.
2 teas came out to one dollar. it has sweetened condensed milk and everything,
then as we were waiting we said it smelled really good, but we couldn't eat because we were eating later with her mom (my aunt)
so they "awwww'ed" us and gave us a free dish on the house!!!!!!!! and it was soooooooo good. and it was just like a normal thing for my cousin!
and shit like that happened all freaking weekend. being pretty really gets you places.

we saw alice in wonderland in 3d. it wasn't that good. :-/
we had more fun playing in the arcade. we told all the random people (everyone talked to us...everyone talked to her, because she was so pretty.) that were flirting with us that we had more fun killing people in the arcade than the movie. which is so true.



so that's all i'm gonna say about that. wish i had more pictures. :-/

um....
today, since one of my classes was cancelled, i came home early.
i baked 2 loaves of bread from scratch!!!! i had never done that before! SO MUCH FUN. i love kneading the bread!!!
and waiting patiently forever and a day for the dough to rise. it was fun but really time consuming.
i basically did it for oli because one of the things she misses most about home is the food. she always talks about how her mama bakes fresh bread and they eat it with fresh feta and tomatoes and stuff.
so by the time she got home, i had just put it in the oven. it smelled so SO good!

and when it came out of the oven, the look on her face was just pure bliss. seeing her that happy made me happy. so we pigged out and ate a whole loaf with fresh feta and tomatoes. DELISH! i was so proud of baking, i can't even tell you. especially since i had never done it before.
what was sweet was oli said she was lucky to have found a friend like me. so sweet.

and my roomie got lunch with me! she never goes out! so nice to finally have bonding time with her!!!

we text each other and plan on hanging out soon.

i see him and my mama in a week and 1 day! pretty nice.

Today was a swell day!
first, it was nice because i got to talk to me bestie all day. she has no idea how much i miss her.
she's the greatest. i love her, but i need more recent pictures! even so, i love this picture of her. she's so mad and small. too adorable.


second, was my school! so much protesting!
i was thoroughly proud of my fellow comrades. they even took over the AVE! (if i ever refer to "the ave" it's kinda the main street of the UW district of Seattle. there's a ton of restaurants, clothes shops, smoke shops...college stuff)
it would be the ONE DAY that i forget to bring my camera to school. bahhhhh! but i'm going to steal some pictures from facebook, and show you what's up at UW today.
they even went in some of our 200+ lecture halls. so good!
all in all there were an estimated 4-500 people. yay for lack of apathy






but my true protesting heart is in california. i grew up with all the issues of this state, and now that they're getting even worse, i feel all the more attached to them. but the UC's did not disappoint!
even RCC got involved!

days like today, with inspirational protests also makes me miss my other bestie (who is the brother of my true true bestie), Ryan. I rarely talk to him anymore now that he's in Ireland, but i know he's having a great time. i think about him all the time, especially today. he would have absolutely loved today.
